Abstract :
MMIC technology is the key to making microwave and millimetre-wave transceivers affordable for widespread use in applications such as wireless data communications, micro- and pico-cellular mobile communications. Oscillators from an essential part of these transceivers and for most applications a phase-locked oscillator employing a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) is desirable. This paper describes the modelling and design of MMIC VCOs using MESFET devices, and the measured results for a pair of X-band designs are presented
