Title :
Automated frequency management within an HF managed network
Author_Institution :
Marconi Commun. Syst. Ltd., Chelmsford, UK
Abstract :
The HF managed network system provides an automated route to making HF available to unskilled HF users. The frequency management incorporated within the system automatically combines predictive approaches to frequency management with real time updates (accounting for propagation conditions) based on actual traffic performance to provide frequencies for use in a synchronous ALE system with a wide area net structure. The frequency management function has been integrated with other technologies to provide a sophisticated HF capability and its ease of use has been demonstrated through an extensive field trials programme
