Abstract :
A method to reduce a switching noise and a switching loss of the boost converter for an active filter is presented. In this method, the saturable inductor commutation are used for suppressing the switching surges due to the recovery current of the diode and a parasitic capacitance of the switch of the converter. The soft switching is realized without increasing the conduction loss due to the resonant current etc. Using this principle of the zero voltage switching, we have obtained an active filter of 95% efficiency with 200 W, under the switching frequency 300 KHz
