Abstract
In this paper, the time varying threshold of a spatiotemporal neuron (STEN) is explored. The computer simulation of time varying threshold shows that output of a STEN produces oscillations similar to a biological neuron. Further these oscillations differ in frequency when the inputs are spatially and temporally related. These distinctive frequencies provide STEN its `directional´ and `temporal´ sensitivity. This oscillatory behavior of STEN we believe will be important in building neural networks capable of processing complex time varying, spatiotemporal signals
