Abstract :
Summary form only given. A two-dimensional magneto-hydrodynamic model of a capillary discharge is developed. Special attention is paid to the interaction between the plasma and the capillary. The mass exchange process is taken into account by adopting a kinetic ablation model and a revised deposition model, and the momentum and energy exchange process brought by the ablated/deposited mass are also considered in this model. By solving this model, key plasma parameters are calculated and presented in this paper. It is shown that distinct two dimensional features exist in the distribution of key plasma parameters. Besides, the calculated results are in good agreement with former measured results.
