Abstract
The authors present the results of an experimental test aimed to evaluate the performances of a SAR system based on the use of an almost geostationary TV satellite as transmitter and a ground based receiver. The synthetic aperture can be obtained directly exploiting the satellite daily motion. The receiver implemented for the experiment is described. The resolution capabilities and the link budget of the system have been analysed. The obtained results allowed the authors to design a new focusing experiment to be realized in the near future
