Abstract :
Fuzzy logic has been widely employed in many application areas for the implementation of fuzzy expert and control systems. Fuzzy logic has been primarily applied in conventional systems control such as electric motor, industrial process or thermal regulations and today fuzzy logic is mainly used to solve nonlinear control problems or in signal processing. In order to implement fuzzy algorithms to control systems like washing machines, dishwashers or air conditioning, that are some of the applications today available on the market, two different approaches can be used. In the past, the software implementation of fuzzy algorithms represented the only solution due the lack of dedicated fuzzy processors. Today, the hardware solution is available showing many advantages for a wide range of applications
