Abstract :
Permanent magnet machines have been used for many years in applications where simplicity of structure was of primary importance. The combination of high energy permanent magnets and solid state power semiconductors resulted in a relatively new class of machines commonly known as “brushless DC machines”. Simulation and performance evaluation of permanent magnet brushless DC motor using the Saber simulation package are presented. The simulation results are discussed. The results match closely with those obtained experimentally
