Abstract
In order to obtain a reliable performance using the direction of arrival (DOA) techniques, a good estimation of the covariance matrix is required which is not possible in the presence of impulsive noise. An efficient nonlinear DOA estimation method based on robust statistics is developed for a CDMA receiver to mitigate impulsive noise effects in multipath environments. The proposed scheme is derived from the sample myriad-based covariation matrix; results demonstrate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms other linear and non-linear schemes.
