Abstract :
The US Air Force conducted an operational test and evaluation (OT&E) of the F-15E Dual Role Fighter from December 1988 to September 1989. In support of the testing, an F-15E Availability Model was developed to address the mission reliability, maintainability, and availability of a 24-aircraft squadron in an operational environment. The author defines mission reliability, maintainability, and availability for the purpose of discussing model usage. Why the model was developed, some of its capabilities and limitations, model verification and validation, and the results of the OT&E analysis using the model, are discussed
