Abstract
Different models have been proposed recently for representing temporal data, tracking historical information, and recovering the state of the document as of any given time, in XML documents. We address the problem of labeling temporal XML documents. The goal of our labeling scheme is to design a structural labeling scheme that supports the representation of ancestor-descendant relationship and sibling relationship between nodes. Moreover our labeling scheme supports insertion of new temporally grouped nodes in the XML tree without re-labeling and without conflicting existing labels. Using the new labeling scheme can efficiently process queries in temporal XML.
