  • Abstract
    A theoretical modelling and a characterization procedure is developed for measuring the thermal limitations of ultrafast saturable absorber devices and their effects on the device switching characteristics is presented. This is an essential step towards the development of improved devices better suited for higher bit rate optical data processing.
