Abstract
At the beginning of 2008, China Southern Power Grid (CSG) suffered a rare ice disaster, which brought severe damage to CSG by destroying many over-head lines, OPGWs, and towers. In this paper, CSG and the ice disaster are briefly introduced, and the operation practice during various stages of ice disaster is detailed displayed. It is shown that this operation practices and experience may be referenced for another power grid when suffering similar disturbance.
