Abstract
This paper describes the the overvoltage and overcurrent protection of a line interface between a two pair subscriber line and a telephone exchange. The interface provides conversion from two wire to four wire and may be used for analog and or digital signals. This new concept allows the use of components with reduced power ratings. Therefore less voluminous and less expensive components can be utilized
