Abstract
The modern trend in telecommunications to distributed networks has led to a requirement for decentralised power systems. Intelligent networking of such power systems can help provide the necessary system integrity while maintaining reasonable costs. This paper describes some of the requirements of such an intelligent network and describes an implementation known as facilities data management. The hardware and software elements of the system are described, along with several examples of networks to suit different requirements
