Abstract :
This paper proposes a real-time dynamic cloud simulation approach based on multi-core and multi thread. In cloud modeling stage, Cellular Automaton is introduced to simulate cloud growing and evolving in the cell automatic control grid. The wind function is designed to achieve cloud dynamic effective. In stage of cloud illumination, a two-step multi-scattering model is introduced to simulate the light intensity of cloud practice in atmosphere and view point to human eye. The cloud modeling and illumination are designed and implement by take advantage of multi-core and multi-thread technique. Experiment results show that our approach perform better on multi-core platform than single-core computer. Compared with other similar work, our approach has higher fps and better visual quality in dynamic cloud simulation.
