Abstract
A two port antenna developed by effectively integrating a narrow band antenna (NBA) on an ultra-wideband antenna (UWBA) with good inter-port isolation is presented. This design utilizes the space between two tapered slots of UWBA, where surface current is minimum, to integrate the NBA. A V-shaped slot resonator is also embedded on UWBA in order to facilitate band notch functionality. The UWBA fed through port-P1 provides 2:1 VSWR band from 2.5GHz to 11GHz except at the notch band (VSWR >; 2) from 5.1GHz to 6.5GHz. Whereas, the NBA excited through port-P2 offers 2:1 VSWR band from 5.40 GHz to 5.88 GHz. Furthermore, the radiation pattern, gain and group delay are suitable for systems such as medical imaging systems, which are connected to the host through high speed WLAN.
