  • Abstract
The methods of geometrical optics and physical optics are particularly well adapted to calculate the RCS (Radar Cross Section) of targets with dimensions very large as compared to the incident electromagnetic field wavelength. The geometrical optics (GO) technique is a very fast technique allowing to take high order interactions into account. However, it fails to calculate the scattered field on occurrence of caustics. For this reason, it is supplemented by the physical optics (PO) to obtain a full angular diagram solution. In this paper, a method to reconstitute a reflected beam issued from the impact of an incident ray on a meshed surface is presented. This method improves the precision of the GO method.
