Abstract :
The performance of a noncoherent direct-sequence code-tracking loop operating in the presence of thermal noise and a pulsed noise jammer is analyzed. In particular, the jammer is modeled as cyclostationary interference resulting from the product of a periodic train of pulses and bandpass white noise. The impact of the jammer´s duty factor and repetition frequency on the tracking loop´s behavior is examined under both linear and nonlinear performance analyses of loop operation. Under a linear performance analysis, the cyclostationarity of the loop noise translates into a steady-state tracking error whose statistical variance is a periodic function of time. An approximate nonlinear analysis of the tracking loop behavior that takes into consideration the actual shape of the loop´s finite-support S-curve is performed for a first-order loop
