Abstract
The authors analyze the performance of DOA (direction-of-arrival) estimation using both forward-only and forward-backward data formulations for MUSIC, min-norm, state-space realization, and ESPRIT in a unified fashion. Particular attention is given to the effects of forward-backward data formulation on the statistical performance of the DOA estimation algorithms
