Abstract
Based on the continuous evolution of radio systems DECT (Digital European Cordless Telecommunications) technology has been designed to cover all major wireless access applications including the local loop network. DECT also provides the first step of the evolution towards personal communication services. DECT systems and networks provide a wireless local access service for a variety of telecommunications applications which are today served by wired links. The applications served by DECT can be divided into the following three areas: residential cordless telecommunications; business cordless PBX; and public access systems which includes wireless local loop provision and personal communication service access
