Abstract
Standard moment method codes such as the NEC can be used for phased array predictions of parameters such as active impedance and gain as functions of scan angle and frequency. A gain correction formula is derived which allows for the presence of loads in the driven elements of the NEC model. The techniques described are applied to a finite array of dipoles backed by a finite reflector, and used to explore the gain variations with scan and active impedance optimisation
