Abstract
The author describes an effort to implement the solution of dense linear systems using the LU (lower-upper) factorization with partial pivoting on the Intel Touchstone DELTA System, a massively parallel distributed memory MIMD (multiple instruction, multiple data) computer. Preliminary results of the performance of the dense linear solve on the Intel touchstone DELTA are reported. These results suggest that this class of algorithms can attain high performance on massively parallel architectures.<>
