Abstract
As advanced intelligent network (AIN) concepts move forward in the public telephone network, unique testing techniques are required for new switching system software that supports AIN. A flexible set of tools has been developed to simulate much of the service logic execution environment (SLEE) functionality and to allow testing of the AIN advanced switch capabilities (ASC) without the presence of a SLEE. The author outlines how these tools have been used to verify the AIN switching software developed for the GTD-5 EAX digital switching system, without the use of a SLEE
