Abstract
A detailed overview of Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) and the routing protocols used in it is given in this paper. Along with that a comparative analysis of different categories of ad hoc routing protocols is performed on a set of simulations which differs in the number of wireless nodes participating. The analysis is based on different performance metric like Delay, Throughput, Average Route Discovery Time and many more. The WMN deployment technique used in this paper is Client based where all the nodes form a mesh network. In the reactive category of the protocols AODV performs better that DSR and overall OLSR is the best performer according to the simulation results present in this paper.
