Abstract :
GaAs module-based double conversion data tuner has superior performance over metal "can" single conversion tuner. A low cost MCM upconverter hermetically packaged with GaAs IC, tank circuit, and SAW filter is demonstrated. This upconverter module is fully DOCSIS compliant with low phase noise, distortion, power consumption and high image rejection. A low cost, high performance full tuner can be realized with this module and an SSOP28 packaged downconverter/synthesizer.
