Abstract
This paper presents an improved ZVT-Technique in a DC-DC boost converter which operates in a continuous current mode with fixed frequency. An additional circuit for reducing the turn-off switching loss of the auxiliary switch circuit was applied. Since the active switches are turned-on and off softly, the switching losses are reduced significantly and a higher efficiency of the system is achieved. A 500 W, 40 kHz boost converter has been implemented to verify the operation and performance of the proposed converter.
