Abstract :
This paper explores the capabilities of genetic algorithms for clustering genomic data. We conducted a series of computational experiments on reconstructing protein-protein interactions from phylogenetic profiles. We validated the proposed model using experimentally confirmed functional associations and known bacterial operons. Experimental results demonstrated that clustering genetic algorithms produce competitive results with respect to traditional clustering methods.
