Abstract :
Maneuver of a sailing boat is an extreme condition of ship hydrodynamics. The boat experiences rapid and large amplitude change in roll and heading direction. For evaluation of sailing boat performance, water flow around the sailing boat hull is numerically investigated. It uses the finite volume method and the equation of motion of the ship.
