Abstract
The author first gives a brief overview of the major events within the field of European unification which have taken place since the end of the second world war. He gives examples of how the Ecole National Superieure des Telecommunications de Bretagne is facing the challenges of the future. This college has ambitious, collaborative schemes with other European countries in what the author hopes will lead to a pan-European engineering syllabus in the field of telecommunications engineering
