Abstract
The permanent search for optimal operating conditions on electrical network combined with the difficulty to build new lines implies the management of very a large scale system, operated closer to physical limits. In this context, the control and operation of power systems requires more efficient and easier man machine interactions since operators must be able to concentrate on the critical tasks and to act very fast without many manual operations to perform. Therefore in order to achieve easiest and more efficient interaction, an important effort has to be made during the designing step; particularly we need using higher levels of abstraction, closer to the way the operators are thinking their work
