  • Abstract
A composite camera calibration method is presented, in which step-by-step calibration based on coplanar targets is taken in the process of determining the extrinsic and intrinsic parameters of camera and the least squares method is taken for solving radial distortion parameters and further iterative optimization. Moreover among the identification of calibration points, the encoding unit is introduced to realize the automatic matching between the calibration points and pixel points. Besides that, the algorithm of line detection based on Hough transform and line intersection is taken for the identification of central position, so as to avoid the measurement error from usual Hough oval detection methods. Finally this method is applied to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of automotive collision course. The results show its obvious effectiveness and stability.
