Abstract :
A sensor based on magneto-elastic effect is presented in order to measure the axial tension of steel cable. The basic principle of the sensor is explained in details, and the magnetic circuit structure with single magnetic loop is designed. A kind of device based on the pulse magnetization circuit of the steel cable is accomplished, and the experiment results are obtained. It is indicated that the measure system is in accordance with theory analysis. It is stable and reliable. The device has the advantages such as battery-powered, small, cheap and portable.
