Abstract
An optical Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) sensor design is application dependant. This paper discusses the optimization of ECT sensor using one-factor-at-a-time approach for flow imaging. Two ECT sensor parameters have been chosen to investigate their combinations for an optimized ECT sensor design, focusing on reducing the undershootings and overshootings. The parameters are electrode size and gap size. Using the proposed method, ECT data based on various ECT sensor parameters have been analyzed to investigate the interaction among factors or inputs (i.e. ECT parameters) and the responses or outputs (i.e. normalized ECT data overshoot or undershoot) The results showed that the method can be used to investigate factor combinations and used it to design an optimized ECT sensor for flow imaging.
