Abstract
In this paper we present an innovative concept for antenna miniaturization, the airgap technique for matching miniaturized antennas, applicable for waveguide antennas. The miniaturized antenna´s problems: the aperture characteristics, matching problem and radiation mechanism are also described in this paper. The antenna miniaturization concept (AMC) and airgap matching techniques (AMT) are proposed as an advance in antenna design, having advantages in both technical and economical aspects.<>
