Abstract
Two-dimensional adaptive filters are useful in a wide variety of image and video processing applications. Several different two-dimensional structures and algorithms have been developed, the most recent of which is a fast 2-D FIR quasi-Newton adaptive filter. Quasi-Newton search algorithms can compensate for the eigenvalue disparity of the autocorrelation matrix in colored signal environments. Learning curves show dramatic improvement in the rate of convergence of 2D adaptive filters with colored noise
