Abstract :
In multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems, antenna selection is an effective method to lead to improvements of the communication performances without increasing number of antenna elements. In this paper, we reveal the antenna selection criterion suitable for indoor LOS scenarios for two-stream MIMO systems. The indoor line-of-sight (LOS) scenarios are constructed by using ray-tracing propagation analysis, and the optimum selection criterion is determined considering signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) variations with the selected antenna combinations. The numerical results offer that the criterion using the square of the absolute value of the determinant of the channel matrix is most effective in terms of BER performance and calculation amount.
