Abstract
Conjugate-structure algebraic CELP (G.729) is a type of voice codec that compresses speech signal based on model parameters of human voice. Fully software or hardware implementation of this algorithm is more time consuming than HW/SW implementation of it and sometimes not efficient. HW/SW partitioning decisions for the realization of the algorithm described in this paper is based on the results of a MATLAB simulation and Visual C compilation. The suggested method evaluates design parameters and helps to learn how to divide the design into hardware and software parts.
