  • Abstract
Surface charge method to calculate the electric field of ±800kV transmission lines is presented in this paper. This method supposes that the charges of transmission line distribute continuously on the surface of the splitting conductors, the surface of every splitting conductor is divided into many arc segments, and charge density of all nodes are selected as the solving variable, linear interpolation is used to express the charges density of every arc segment by nodes charge density, the linear algebra equations can be set up according to electrostatic field theory. Electric field strength can be calculated from the charge distribution, and maximum of electric field near the conductor is investigated. In the meantime, partial capacitors between two poles and ground are researched. An example is presented to illustrate the advantage and the precision of the new given method.
