Abstract :
This paper proposes a fast convergence algorithm for sparse- tap adaptive FIR filters with tap-position control. The tap- position control for the proposed algorithm is carried out based on a small segment consists of multiple taps. A new tap-replace control methods is also introduced. This proposed algorithm also reduces the computational cost by almost 45 percent. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm converges almost twice faster than the conventional algorithms.
