Abstract
Wireless local area networks (WLANs), WiMAX, and wireless personal area networks (WPANs) are currently being deployed in the same unlicensed radio frequency bands. In these bands, within and between some of these systems, interference becomes a major issue. Interference investigations from a wide variety of wireless systems are hard to perform. In this paper, a method is further developed to evaluate the impact of Bluetooth interferences on WLAN IEEE 802.11b and WiMAX IEEE 802.16 network performance. A closed form expression is presented for the probability of collision, Pr[C]. The approach is then extended to examine the coexistence between WiMAX IEEE 802.16 and Bluetooth services in unlicensed band of 2.4 GHz.
