Abstract :
For Satellite Digital Audio Radio Services (SDARS) a new satellite antenna is presented which shows a high efficiency and a large bandwidth in comparison to conventional SDARS receiving antennas as for example patch antennas. The antenna requires only a small mounting volume and shows a radiation pattern which is tailored to the reception of satellite signals transmitted via highly-elliptical-orbit satellites as well as geo-stationary satellites and terrestrial repeaters. Simulation results and measurement results of a hardware demonstrator show the high performance of the new satellite antenna.
