Abstract
A dual-mode loop antenna with polarization diversity is proposed for wireless local area networks (WLAN) application in this paper. Two orthogonal one-wavelength modes of loop are excited by two modes of one feed, making the overall dimension compact. Dual-polarization can be well matched with the -10dB impedance bandwidth of 1.94-2.79 GHz and 1.96-2.72 GHz, covering the WLAN bandwidth. The ports isolation is better than 20.3 dB. The gains of two modes are 3.0 dBi and 4.2 dBi. Key parameters are also studied to validate the antenna design.
