  • Abstract
Navigation System in the air transportation thus far is still in progress to implement a space based navigation system as a stand-alone navigation system since the accuracy, integrity, continuity of service and availability provides by the satellite based navigation system is not ensured enough to the requirement of air navigation system. Therefore it is necessary to monitor the coverage of terrestrial based navigation system in order to ensure that the navigation information is ready when it is needed. The coverage of terrestrial based navigation system can be monitored using a simulation model based on the installed parameters of the CNS ATM infrastructure. The result of this simulation must be validated through flying test or through our proposed ground check methodology. The ground check methodology is based on measurements of the CNS signal in some sample locations on the ground. The results of measurement on the ground is analysed in comparison with the simulation results in order to validate the simulation results.
