Abstract
The design of a monolithic DS3 desynchronizer, which recovers DS3 clock and data from a SONET STS-1 (synchronous optical network synchronous transport signal) synchronous payload envelope, is discussed. A test method for the verification of the SONET jitter generation specification is also described. Jitter measurements for the various test cases are presented. In each case, the maximum allowable output jitter is 1.5 UI
