Abstract :
In this study, a novel algorithm is proposed for the location estimation and tracking of a wideband source signal in the near field of the sensors which are distributed in the field sparsely. The radiating source signal is arrived at each sensor with different delay times since the sensors are distributed in the sensor field. The time delays can not be ignored since the source is in the near field of the sensors. Furthermore, processing of wideband source signal is difficult considerably in the time domain. Therefore, the wideband signal model is constructed in order to find the source location at first. Then the solution which is based on the observation delay times of maximum likelihood (ML) estimator is maintained based on the constructed signal model. The observation delays (shifts) which are different for each sensor are taken into consideration at the derived solution. Moreover, the simulation results that supported the performance of the algorithm are given in the paper.
