Abstract
The mathematical model of the gas turbine performance in the condition of fault is established by using the exergy efficiency, which as a figure of merit of the work potential that based on the second law of thermodynamics. The performance matrix of fault model is derived by using the small deviation method. The exergy efficiency is contrasted with the efficiency, which is the traditional function. The exergy efficiency among the components is compared. The exergy efficiency of the gas turbine system is analyzed. The result is suggested that the exergy efficiency can express the gas turbine performance wonderfully in the point of view of the transfer the stored exergy contained in fuel into useful work. This is the groundwork for the further study the capability of the gas turbine which in the condition of all kinds of faults.
