Abstract :
The active networks are a novel approach to network architecture in which the switches of the network perform customized computations on the messages flowing through them. In this paper, we first introduce the traditional SNMP-based network management framework, and then describe the thinking of active network. We discuss the design of some useful active packet transmission models. With the help of these packet transmissions, we can implement network management efficiently.
