Abstract :
This article presents studies on the nonlinear transition shift (NLTS) and nonlinear amplitude distortion (NLAD) in perpendicular magnetic recording for CoPtCr-SiO2 media with various SiO2 contents. The understanding of these nonlinear distortions should aid in the optimization of pre-compensation to minimize error rates.
