Abstract
In this paper, a two-dimensional CDMA system is presented and its performance is analyzed and simulated (in the downlink) in a multipath fading environment. By using the spreading codes in both the time and frequency domains, the proposed system has a good ability to tolerate high interference from other users. The reason is that the code orthogonality between different users can be well preserved in both domains, especially in the time invariant and slow fading case. With the aid of using guard intervals, the requirement on the accuracy of the time synchronization is also controllable
